Title: Does New Jerusalem actually work?

Type: Lamb • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Play this card simultaneously with the Son of God card and rescue any additional Lost Soul in play. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Proverbs 11:30 • Availability: Promotional cards (1995 Redemption Gift Set)

What does simultaneous mean on the card?

Does it mean: 'hit the table at the same time'  If so, why can't I play off of my partner's SoG in teams? 

Does it mean: 'Played at the same time?' According to the REG a card is considered played "when its special ability activates" But you can't have two instant abilities activated at the same time can you?  And if that's the case how can New Jerusalem's ability function, since it happens after SoG's ability?

There's probably something I'm just missing, but could someone explain it to me?

That ruling is ancient.

It's been overturned since.

If only they had made an insert card about this ruling in the Priests Expansion...  ;)

Yeah I remember getting my first boxes of Priest packs (oh how I miss the good old boosters) and having my roommate help me rip them open and sort the cards, he stopped and read that insert card and we cried. We always tagged off other people's SoGs (I once remember a multi where 1 person played SoG/NJ and the other two played their NJs).

If anybody wants to type that insert on here it would be great, I don't have access to one right now.

We're talking about TEAMS, which is a different ball game, though the ruling ended up being the same.
