Title: Does Death of Unrighteous work with Momentum Change?
Post by: SoulSaver on February 02, 2009, 02:35:14 PM
When Momentum Change says when Evil Character loses battle what does that exactly mean? Does it mean if an evil character was discarded or does it mean when a hero rescues a lost soul against that evil character? What does loses battle mean?!?!?!?

It means when the ec loses, be it ignore, discard, capture etc, to answer what you are thinking, No it doesn't have to be VS a hero.

So Deluge of Rain would return to my hand after Momentum Change was played?

No.  Mutual Destruction by special ability is a win for the EC.

Hey,

In every battle either the attacker or the defender wins (and the other loses).

The attacker wins if any of the following are true:
 - the battle is in the "hero winning" state
 - the battle is in the "mutual destruction" state
 - there are no evil characters in battle and a hero is in battle

The defender wins if any of the following are true:
 - the battle is in the "evil character winning" state
 - the battle is in the "stalemate" state
 - there are no heroes in battle

Tschow,

Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly

Does this mean that Samson's Sacrifice isn't a battle-winner?

Correct. Mutual destruction by special ability is a win for the evil forces.

I thought I remembered reading in the rulebook that whoever played the mutual discard was the winner of the battle, because they sacrificed themselves for the cause?

Specifically, a hero gets a lost soul if the battle ends in a mutual destruction by the numbers.

A hero does not get a lost soul if they are removed from the battle due to a special ability, i.e. Joseph in Prison or Deluge of Rain.
