Can I play Grapes of wrath after my opponent plays an end the battle enhancement?

If you can somehow get a valid target for it, sure ;)

An end the battle ability resolves the battle as part of it's special ability. There is no period of time between playing an EtB and the soul being won or lost.

To clarify, kevinthedude is joking...kind of.  ::)

You can play Grapes of Wrath anytime you want, but after an End the Battle ability has finished, there's nothing to discard so it doesn't give you an additional rescue attempt.

EtB is effectively CBI because there is no chance to play an interrupt before the battle ends. An EtB ability doesn't trigger SI.

Can you play dominants during battle resolution?

All "end the battle" abilities are inherently Cannot be Interrupted (I'm 99% sure this is stated in the REG). Since they do not remove any characters from battle, they do not cause special initiative and consequently they resolve completely, which means the battle goes into battle resolution. Once the battle has reached battle resolution no additional cards can be played.

Can you play dominants during battle resolution?

No. Keep in mind however, that battle resolution does not begin until all players agree they are not playing any additional cards -- unless an End the Battle ability is used.

So if you block and I play AotL, the battle does not immediately go into battle resolution. You could still play Christian Martyr or use something like Unholy Writ to stop my Hero. Once you (or any other player in a multi-player game) have declined to play dominants, then the battle would move to battle resolution and then no dominants can be played until battle resolution finishes.

You would have to use a card to continue the battle, (like the covenant that stops ETB)

Okay so let’s say it’s a negatable card like a simple discard a hero. I as the hero have no enhancement to play but I do have three woes. Can I discard my hero n the play three woes ? N that I’m guessing is still n the battle phase?

You Will Remain doesn't actually continue the battle. It allows a new one if the previous battle was ended using an "End the battle" ability. So the first battle still goes through battle resolution, and then once that finishes, You Will Remain triggers and the player may begin a new battle.

i was doing too many things, thanks TG. This is what I meant. This is how you would get GoW back in the game. You would have to start a new battle using "You will remain"

Yes, in most cases. Because the evil enhancement is still in play (it is not discarded until battle resolution).

However, if the evil enhancement said "Discard this card to discard a Hero" then it would resolve and would be in the discard pile where Three Woes could not target it (since the negate ability of Three Woes defaults to cards in play). Likewise, Three Woes cannot be used to negate a card that says "Banish all cards in battle" because once it resolves, it's no longer in play to be negated.
