REG mentions Peter is a Prophet but so far I can get a clear explaination of why, could someone indulge on why Peter is a Prophet?

I am guessing its based upon the letters that Peter wrote that contain prophecy. Besides, prophecy is not limited to predicting the future. Think about Nathan, his role as God's prophet included both rebuking David for his adultery, as well as warning David about the consequences that followed(2 Samuel 12). Peter does both of the above (consider the Ananias & Sapphira incident in Acts 5).

The part that is prophecy is what would happen as the concequence. And I question the issue with them was actually prophecy, because it didn't say when the Holy Spirit told him that he was lying.

True enough that we don't know the exact timing, but I have never been able to predict when someone would drop dead. Anyways, there is certainly prophecy in Peter's epistles: particularly in 2 Peter 3 that speaks about he Day of the Lord. Besides, the Biblical concept of a prophet had more to do with forth-telling what God wanted His people to hear (usually not very good news), than with foretelling the future. The common denominator in all prophets was the fact they spoke from God, and not necessarily that they predicted future events.

Peter also, in his role as a Disciple, spoke a lot about the coming of the Kingdom of God, which should count as prophesying.

Thanks for bringing up this point Megamanian, I love when we can move beyond the cards to the Bible. One of the greatest elements of this game is its nature to make us delve into the scriptures for our selves and see what we find.
The Gospels
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was
not revealed to you by man
, but
by my Father in heaven
. (Matthew 16:15-17).
The Early Church
Peter's vision (Acts 10) and following encounter with Cornelius and his household was typological of God's mission and commissioning for a prophet. Mr. Tumnus has also made mention of the declarative and authoritative role of a prophet as found in Acts 5 (Ananias & Sapphira). These are, admittedly, mere types of the prophet.
The Letters (Epistles)
In 2 Peter 1:16-21, Peter clarifies the role of a prophet. I really like this scripture so I'll share it
:
16 We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” 18 We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.
19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a
light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Finally, the most convicting evidence to me is Peter's Second Letter, which is both prophetic and apocalyptic in theme:
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives (2 Peter 3)

Thanks, I've really been waiting on a proper answer, since no one could really answer the question.
My understanding of what Peter was saying in his definition of a Prophet is because of False Prophets during that time.
I'd also point out the OT point of knowing and testing a Prophet to find of they are true Prophets or not.
I'll find it later and post it

I agree, Peter certainly needed to help his young church understand the danger or those who falsely claimed to be prophets
As for the OT passage, are you maybe thinking of
Deuteronomy 18
? There's also some points about testing prophets in
Deuteronomy 13
21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?” 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
The Bible doesn't note all characters by "identifiers" as our Redemption minds have come to undertake, so often we are simply left make the best conclusion from the information we have gathered.
Acts 13:1
gives a specific list of those who were prophets, and Agabus is described as a prophet. Yet many who may have been prophets were not listed as such because the context did not require such an "identifier". Example, would Luke (Author of Acts) need to tell us that Peter (the disciple, apostle, eye witness, and preacher) was a prophet in order to believe his sermon on Pentecost?
But for the sake of the game, prophets will often need other criteria than being specifically listed "among the prophets". In such cases we look for footprints and "clues", while being careful not to be "trigger happy" on identifiers.
