Title: Defending The Strong Angel
Post by: dermo4christ on April 28, 2012, 05:12:51 PM
Another situation that came up in a game between my wife and I last night...She was rescuing with The Strong Angel (ugh....).  I was using an egyptian defense and played a CBN enhancement to take the angel prisoner.  Is that playable against the strong angel since his ability interupts and prevents all abilities and enhancements? I was thinking that interupt and prevent = negate.  But since the enhancement CBN I played it and captured The Strong Angel.  let me know.  Thanks!

Interrupt and prevent on old cards translates to 'negate' (it doesn't work in the reverse, negate is its own ability).

Breakdown of the 'Cannot Be's:

CBP = Cannot be Prevented: Cannot be stopped by a card played before it.  That means that prevents or ongoing negates that hit the table before a CBP card do not affect it (regardless of the actual word).

CBI = Cannot be Interrupted: Cannot be stopped by a card played after it.  That means that interrupts or negates that hit the table after a CBI card do not affect it (regardless of the actual word).

CBN = Cannot be Negated: Cannot be stopped period.  Prevent, interrupt, and negate have no effect on these cards (regardless of the actual word).

Hope this helps.

Yes, a CBN ability works against The Strong Angel.

You certainly were, as long as someone had the Egypt site in play ;)

Enslaved by Egypt (H)

Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Gold • Ability: 2 / 2 • Class: none • Special Ability: If used by an Egyptian, capture a hero. Cannot be negated by a good card if the Egypt site is in play.
