I have Angel with the Secret Name in my hand, I put him in battle to make a rescue attempt, with the intention to exchange him. My opponent has Plagued with Diseases up. AwtSN's ability kicks in before the discard from the decrease, right?
-
I'm pretty sure the decrease happens first.

The ability happens first.

Why? If you have a CBI OT hero up, golden calf would prevent in, so why would the order be the opposite in this case?
-
Was his ability negated/prevented? Then it activated.
-
but for calf to prevent a CBI hero it would have to activate first, the artifact was active before the hero
-
Yes. Calf prevents. PwD is a decrease, which is a different story. AWtSN enters battle, so his ability activates, as it is not prevented/negated. If he's still in battle, then he immediately dies.

I agree, his effect plays but if he is still in play, he dies. AwSN's numbers are part of an Identifier, so if X is higher than 2 (or 3 if your winning) he doesn't die.

I went looking in the Reg, and I CANNOT find what order these things would activate in. That is, the CBN AwSN enters battle (or any hero for that matter), are increase/decrease ongoing effects dealt with before or after the SA on a card? I don't think that this has anything to do with prevent, interrupt, negate, or any cannot be... on the card, but what order the abilities are considered as a hero enters battle.
Does someone know where this would be found?

Nothing can come in between a character entering battle and his SA carrying out, unless that character has a banding ability and a weapon. Take for another example TToD; if an eligible King is blocked by Uzzah, Uzzah's SA carries out, removing him from battle; then, when TToD checks for a blocker, there is none and you don't get to draw or play.
