Current proposals for deck building rule changes

Proposals for Type 1 deck building:

Whats the deal with No SA characters? Why is it a MAXIMUM of 3 per deck, no matter the size? If someone were to make a 200  card T1 deck, they can have more SA characters then they could non SA characters... shouldnt this be changed to consider larger decks?

Quote
Maximum of 1 of each per 50 cards in a deck:

•      Card that has a special ability (text over the picture).  Example: A fifty-six (56) card deck may contain only one Authority of Christ, one Repentance, etc. A one-hundred (100) card deck may contain no more than two Authority of Christ, two Repentance cards, etc. A one-hundred fifty (150) card deck may contain no more than three of any individual special ability card.

Maximum of 3 of each in a deck:

•      Single-colored Heroes, Evil Characters and enhancements that do not have a special ability.

Proposals for Type 2 deck building:

I propose we change the rule regarding sites and lost souls with special abilities.  Instead of 1 per 50, I would prefer to see a cap of 3 like we have for arts, forts, etc.

I prefer:

1 per deck: dominants and multi-color
2 per deck: lost souls
3 per deck: artifacts, sites, fortresses
4 per deck: characters and enhancements

Final ANB errata: Return player to game.

At first glance I think both of those proposals are sound ideas.  I don't see anything terribly wrong with the current deck building rules that would necessitate a change, but if there is going to be a change, those seem good.

Please don't limit characters and enhancements to 4 in T2  :(

ban dominants completely and you can make the entire game much more balanced. thats my proposal.

Actually if you just ban New Jerusalem, that would go a very long way to balancing the game.

Split Altar needs that errata.

It's a difference between being like MPA or AoCP.   ::)

there are much more ways to deal with artifacts than with dominants. and normally, a person can only have 1 artifact active at a time...as oppossed to using a powerful card with no restrictions whatsoever.

And a particular deck of mine in progress typically has 3-4 active together.

Most players use 2-3 from what i've seen.

I would like to add the same question I asked in the other thread into this one, since this is much more about ruling changes:

Why can I have four AoCP's in a 200 card deck, but only three Christian Soldiers?

Ranting about it on multiple threads sounds more like a complaint that a question. ;)

The obvious answer is because that's what it says in the rulebook.  If you'd like to know why they made that rule you'll have better luck finding an answer by messaging/emailing Rob or maybe Bryon.

This is also the place to let me know if there have been any other proposals that I am unaware of.   :)

Well, since proposals were submitted in the first post of the thread, it seems to me that it's already being discussed.

i said normally, as under normal circumstances players can only have 1 active at a time, without the help of other arts/forts/characters.

Yes according to the rules you only have one up at a time, but most people go for two or more.

right, but my point was there are so many ways to deal with artifacts, characters and enhancements alike. dominants...not so many ways. serious shift in power there.
