No. In Deck, Hand and Discard, Deafening Spirit is an Enhancement.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

But it says demon in the identifier, and seven sons say exchange for an orange brigade demon in your discard pile.

It's a subject of debate whether that identifier persists as an Enhancement. Regardless, if you did exchange with him he'd go immediately back to Discard since Enhancements can't just chill in battle.

I think it would work, because an enhancement activates once it enters battle, and it turns itself into an EC.

I could see that if you had an orange brigade demon banded to Seven Sons, but if SSS is in battle by himself when you exchange then the enhancement would fizzle as there is no character for it to activate on.

I wouldn't say so, since I couldnt exchange for Ruthless with a card that Exchanges for an Egyptian, since it defaults to an Egyptian Character, not an Enhancement.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

So it can't exchange for a Non-Character Orange card. And Identifiers like Demon or Egyptian are limited to Characters. So Deciving Spirit is a Demon when it's a Character, not an Enhancement. It's the same that a Character can't Involve Prophecy, because that Identifier is limited to Enhancements only.

Deceiving spirit is always a character.
defining spirit is the one you mean.

Yes, that's what I meant. I keep on saying Deceving Spirit... I meant Deafening Spirit.

Once cards hit discard, they revert to their default state, no matter how they were played on the table.  Dual-Aligment Enhancements are both good and evil enhancements in hand, deck, or discard regardless of how they may have been played.  This also extends to Curses, Covenants, and cards like Deafening Spirit.  Regardless of what they were when they left play, they revert to their default state when they hit hand, deck, or discard.

Therefore, while it is in discard, Deafening Spirit is an Orange Enhancement, not a character, so SSS would be unable to exchange with it for lack of target.  In the same way, even though it may have been discarded as a character, Demon Behind the Idol could place it beneath deck, since it is an orange enhancement.

Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Crimson • Ability: 7 / 7 • Class: None • Special Ability: Negate and discard Three Nails. You may exchange this Evil Character with an orange brigade demon in discard pile. Cannot be prevented by a good card. • Identifiers: NT Male Human • Verse: Acts 19:14-15 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Uncommon)
It says nothing about being an evil character.

There are no such identifiers in the REG.

Deafening Spirit (Pi)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Orange • Ability: 1 / 4 • Class: None • Special Ability: Negate and discard the last good Enhancement played this battle. You may treat this card as an Evil Character until the end of this battle. • Play As: Negate and discard the last good Enhancement played this battle. You may convert this card to an Evil Character until the end of this battle. • Identifiers: NT, Connected with Demons • Verse: Mark 9:25 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Common)

This card is not treated as a generic demon until it is converted by special ability.

That's what I've been trying to say, that Demon is a Character Identifier and Deafening Spirit can't have the identifier while an Enhancement.
