Can I use this to set aside my opponents character?


Set Evil Character aside. Character gains 1/1 for every turn Character is set aside.

You can only set aside opponent's characters if you play the set aside in battle, but in this case the wording on covenant with death only allows you to set aside the evil character it is played on.
