Is there anything stopping me from looking at an opponent's hand, and then informing others at the table what s/he's got?

I'm pretty sure that you can't do that.

Look is an ability that lets just you look at it whereas reveal lets everybody at the table look at it.  You can't tell player C to block player B with his low number worthless evil character because you have Grapes in hand and are going to play it.  I think this is similar.  You can't just give out hidden info to other players.

You can't "choose" to reveal your hand within the rules. The REG specifically says that you can only reveal your hand if a SA says to.

I realize, of course, that most players are not concerned and would not likely report it. However, if this thread was started because of a specific problem at tournaments (or within the playgroup) then I would enforce the rule more stringently.

Im sure that this isn't allowed in multi but what about in teams? you're allowed to talk strategy with your team mate so would telling your team mate what cards your opponent has fall in to that?

I see no reason why that wouldn't be allowed. I have often warned my teammate about what an opponent has.

I recall that the rule for teams is that all table talk is allowed.  The only requirement is that you can't go aside and whisper; the opponents have to be able to hear what you say.
