Couple Questions

1) In Type 1 it is blocker's choice when it comes to which soul the rescuer gets?

2)Does Drawn Sword's ablitiy work in this situation?
I RA with Joiakim who has Melchizedek's Blessing on him that protects him from didcard ablities  and my Alter of Incense is Active. My opponent blocks with Gomer(w) banded to Nebuchanezzer. I play zeal to discard Neb, but he interrupts with swift horses and plays drawn sword to discard Joiakim.

1. Yes
2. No, because Joiakim is protected from Discard. You can play Swift Horses, but Drawn Sword won't target a protected Hero. If Alter of Incense weren't active it would work because Swift Horses would interrupt the protection on Blessing.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Are you sure it doesn't interrupt the protection on Altar of Incense?  The REG says interrupt the battle interrupts "ALL ongoing special abilities (see Ongoing Abilities)."

Swift Horses interrupts the battle, but Altar isn't in battle.

What is the actual ruling on interrupting things that are out of battle, I know that was a discussion recently.  The REG says "ALL ongoing abilities", and protection is one.  And per the Redemption Commandments, ALL means ALL.  So how would this not work in interrupting protection provided by a card out of battle, if ALL are interrupted?  (Does not remember the result of that discussion)

Interrupt the Battle can only interrupt cards that are in battle, as the name suggests. The REG quote is correct, though it should be clarified so that this question doesn't keep coming up.

To expound on this, if I play an enhancement that interrupts and discards the last enhancement played, would that interrupt an artifact? No, because it's specifically interrupting that enhancement. Likewise, interrupt the battle abilities only interrupt cards in the battle.

Yeah I noticed this a while back as well.  That section of the REG needs to be updated/clarified.  Interrupt the battle interrupts all ongoing abilities in the scope of the battle.

Thanks for the clarification, I had thought that was the resolution, but I could not be sure and all I had to go on was the REG. :)

Hey,

Yeah I noticed this a while back as well.  That section of the REG needs to be updated/clarified.  Interrupt the battle interrupts all ongoing abilities in the scope of the battle.

Quote from: REG
The phrase “interrupt the battle includes interrupting the following:
 - all active ongoing abilities
 - abilities that are defeating one of the characters you control in battle
 - the last enhancement played in current battle if it was played by your opponent.
Interrupt the battle only includes such abilities if they are on cards that are in battle.

Note the last sentence.  The bulleting of that section could be improved, but it says the correct thing.

Tschow,
