Title: Converted Naaman and Brass Serpent

If I have converted Naaman+Naaman's Horses and Chariots to gold and he is about to be discarded, can I play Brass Serpent to keep him gold?  Or does he become red?

It seems like Naaman would heal himself before he could become a target for Brass Serpent.
