if my opponent captures a hero can I put more of those heros in play.

Why would that be? The captured character is in his opponent's territory.

Well it depends on whether or not the captured hero is in your land of bondage or in their's. If it is in your's then you may only play down generic ones, but if the captured hero is in their territory then it doesn't matter whether or not you play them down in your territory if you have multiples in your deck.
