Grapes question

Couldn't remember how this situation plays out:

I attack and have initiative after a blocker is presented. Can I play Provisions to set aside the attacking Hero and then use Grapes of Wrath on the blocker?

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

I'm inclined to say yes as well... but I'm not 100% sure.

But aren't you ending the battle essentially with the set-aside card, once the hero is removed the battle is over, yes?

INE, but this is what I think, since Grapes can't interrupt.

Yes. This works. You set aside your hero with Provisions and then discard the evil character left in battle with grapes to shuffle the remaining cards in battle into deck. Then you may attack again as long as you don't have the most lost souls.

That's how we ruled it at the tournament.

This is a logical conclusion that many hosts would make. This is a clarification that should some day be added to the REG.

I agree with the ruling. Setting aside the hero does not immediately end the battle, just as using Christian Martyr would not. If a lone character is removed from battle by a special ability, inherently there must be an opportunity to still play a card, since there are already precedents (negate, Unknown Nation, Burial, etc.).

Yeh, it's kind of like adding a EC to battle the battle isn't over till both characters are out. That's how I think of it.
