Can there be two on one character? What happens if your opponent steals your character with nicolaitans' teaching and then you steal it back with the same card does it have both cards on the hero? And what happens if my opponent discards my nicolaitans' teaching does the hero go back to him?

Select a brigade and a hero in a territory. Place on that hero: take hero to your territory. Hero may use enhancements of selected Brigade. Cannot be interrupted

If my opponent places nicolaitans' teaching on my character and then makes a rescue attempt with my character and I used cloud of witnesses Falling Away after the hero Falls away and gets put back into my territory as an evil character after the turn is up what happens to the hero?

To clarify, the Hero is converted to your opponent's territory done convert never directly changes ownership.
