I believe the intention was to ignore what crimson was at the time, yes. However, now that red and crimson are separate (and there's no rule that I know of about ignoring your own alignment) I would think the enhancement ignores what it says, red brigade, which is red heroes. Aggie is correct, there is a distinction in ignore I hadn't seen before.

I agree with Aggie, and I believe there are other examples. There was another good enhancement that said "ignores green," which was referring to the Limited print run evil green brigade, but now would mean "pale green." It may have been Submissiveness of Mary, or something like that. There used to be one of those ignore cards to combat each evil brigade.
