Since Coliseum "negates" protection, it Foreign Wive's would still be protected if opponent has drawn 5 cards. Also I'm guessing that conditional CBN things will still be tossed, like Spirit as a Dove, Cannot be Negated if John the Baptist is in play.

I think your first question is asking if Coliseum can negate Foreign Wives protection? If that's what you're asking the answer is no.
Coliseum will toss any Enhancement with the phrase "cannot be negated" in the special ability. It has to use the words in quotes exactly though.
Cards like Authority of Christ that use old wording like "May not be interrupted, negated, or prevented" will not be tossed. Even though the card itself cannot be negate it does not have the phrase in quotes on Coliseum.

So I guess I didn't word those good. I was trying to make sure I got the answers right and just confirming. FW would not be negated, and Spirit as a Dove would be tossed be it does say cannot be negated. Thanks for the clarification on the old wording because I would be tossing those too!

Cool, but I have a feeling that will come up a LOT in tournaments. I can hear the 'JUDGE' now. ;D

We tried to come up with a way for Coliseum to clearly toss all cards that are CBN. Despite quite a bit of effort we didn't figure out a way to do it in the amount of space we have available for the SA.

I think it's better like this anyways. It gives it more variety

Couldn't you have just said, "Toss all cards that Cannot be Negated" or "Toss all cards that have the "Cannot be Negated modifier"

Is there a play-as on AoCP, and if there is wouldn't that be considered the card's exact wording?

Both of those options were considered. The issue with the first was cards that are "conditional" CBN would have created problems. For example, a card that says "Cannot be negated by an evil card" can still be negated by a Gamaliel's Speech played as a good enhancement so it isn't always CBN even if the opponent has no possible way to negate it. We also thought about using the modifier language but decided against that as well--I don't remember the reasoning off hand, I would have to go back and look (unless Gabe or John recall).

Hopefully because tossing cards played on Michael et. was the opposite of my intent!

That too...we did not want to create "automatic TOSS" Heroes in Michael, Thomas and Paul.
-
Why not? Hahahaha that sounds awesome.

so aocp wiki says
Discard all Evil Characters in play. May not be interrupted, negated, or prevented.
Play-As
Discard all Evil Characters in play. Cannot be negated.
just wondering if this is actually meaning it and other cards with other wording which are now or would be worded now in the 'new language' "Cannot be negated" are tossed with Coliseum?

No. A Play-as doesn't change anything about the card (i.e. what wording is present or not) it just gives a (for most) simpler explanation on how to play the card. So AoCP even with a Play-as doesn't have the wording "Cannot be Negated" even if it has the effect "Cannot be Negated".

okay cool yeah i could see why it would be confusing

you're not the only one! when i playtested it with the creator, Daniel, he told me AoCP would be tossed! ha!
