I've been away from the game for a couple weeks (super busy work schedule)

but a CNP enhancement can be interupted.. and then prevented?

I play a CNP enhancement, my opponent plays a negate. I didnt think that worked. I thought the only way around a CNP would be to interupt and discard/remove?

CBP can be interrupted and then prevented. CBP simply means cannot be negated/prevented before the fact, and CBI means cannot be negated/interrupted after the fact.

hmm... I don't think I quite understand that. an interupt takes the battle "before the fact" to play an enhancement.

but if my EE is already CBP... then  you can go "before the fact" all you want, as long as you don't prevent the enhancement.

Anyone see where i am coming from? or is this just a losing arguement?

Okay...cannot be stopped before the fact=CBP. Cannot be stopped after the fact=CBI. Cannot be stopped either way=CBN.

CBP can be interrupted and then prevented.

I believe this is incorrect.  Cannot be prevented cannot be prevented (duh  :P).  It can be interrupted, but not prevented.  So if you play a CBP, your opponent can interrupt it and, say, kill your character (because then there would be no person for your enhancement to activate on, ie indirect prevention) but cannot directly prevent the enhancement.

An "Interrupt and prevent the last enhancements" (Which nowadays means negate), will negate a CBP.

You're thinking of  cannot be negated
cannot be interrupted can be interrupted if it is prevented first
cannot be prevented can be prevented if it is interrupted first

No, it wouldn't because it cannot prevent.  It can only fulfill the first half, but that alone is useless unless you can indirectly prevent the enhan.

This is the best I could fine in the REG...doesn't seem to be a lot on general CBP

Quote from: REG > Other Special Abilities > Cannot Be Prevented > General Description
“Cannot be prevented” specifically targets the prevent special ability (see Prevent in the REG and Prevent in the Glossary).  Cards that “cannot be prevented” cannot be stopped by a card played before it.

If you interrupt the CBP card, you're going back to before it was played....

Nope, the interrupt + prevent was played after. That's all it means. I was angry when finding this out as well...

CBN works always, CBI works unless it's prevented, and CBP works unless it's interrupted. It's that simple.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

cannot be interrupted can be interrupted if it is prevented first
cannot be prevented can be prevented if it is interrupted first

I can understand the first but not the second....  If you prevent the CBI, it's ability doesn't work anymore, so it CAN be interrupted.  If you interrupt the CBP, you can prevent it, but as soon as the interrupt is finished, the CBP kicks back in and your prevent did nothing because it's CBP.  It doesn't make sense the other way....

See Angel Wars insert.

I'm all for learning the correct way, but I have no idea where I'm supposed to go with that.  :P  Link plz?

Don't think of an interrupt+prevent as an interrupt+prevent. Think of it as a negate. And CBP can be negated if the negate is played after the CBP was.

Prevent basically ignores the text on the card, CBP ability can't kick back in because it doesn't exist anymore

This phrase just confuses me in all sorts of ways.  :P  So prevent is now working against CBPs because it's 'ignoring' the CBP?  Ummm....?

Don't think of an interrupt+prevent as an interrupt+prevent. Think of it as a negate. And CBP can be negated if the negate is played after the CBP was.

This, actually, does make sense.  :P  But if this is the case, CBP still cannot be interrupted and prevented, only negated, which was not what was being said before.

Ignore is not truly what's happening. At least, not the redemption term ignore...

Interrupt + Prevent=Negate. Always.

Interrupt + Prevent=Negate. Always.

Actually, this is not true, and it has been promised that the fabled "New REG" will show this.  Negate is more powerful than interrupt and prevent, hence how a Negate can stop a CBP but an interrupt and prevent cannot.

An interrupt + prevent can stop a CBP if played after the CBP. Similar to negate. They are the same power level.

The ONLY difference between the two is the specific wording. A card that says "negate all abilities that say interrupt and prevent" would negate an interrupt and prevent, but not a negate. That is the only difference.

Negate also contains redirect, but it doesn't redirect, it just is there as an "identifer" kind of if I am not mistaken.
