T2: Eternal Inheritance

Ruling for T2:

If I make a rescue attempt and am going after a Lost Soul (we will say Dull) and opponent blocks. Can I use Eternal Inheritance to rescue a different Lost Soul other than Dull?

This question is under the assumption that all criteria of Eternal Inheritance are met.

Thanks!

Yes, you can rescue a different LS.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Can opponent negate Eternal Inheritance if the Lost Soul redeemed is the 5th/7th?
May you prosper greatly!

Nope, they never get the chance because the game immediately ends.

If Eternal Inheritance rescues the last soul you need to win, the game ends before any interrupt could be played.

Could you technically play 4 Eternal Inheritances in the same battle then, winning 4 Lost Souls on the same turn?

Again, assuming that they don’t play/negate one. Just wanting to verify before I try building a deck like this for T2.  8)

Give Thomas Clay with Simon the Tanner, decrease Thomas with Gates of Samaria, place Job Overcomes on Thomas with one of those cards from Priests, give Foreign Wives to opponent with something Canaanite, attack with Thomas, play Disciples of the Lamb/Eternal Inheritance (if they block), throw in Book of Jashar and Stillness/Trust and let the shenanigans begin!
May you prosper greatly!

No, because Eternal Inheritance requires it to be a Rescue Attempt, and after the first one resolves the battle continues as a battle challenge.

Ah, yes. Forgot about the “If rescuing” piece of the wording.

Should have pulled it up on the card viewer: https://thejambi.github.io/RedemptionCCGViewer/?GYXgogLgpgTgdgQwDYFIBMAGAknAFrASwgTgGMog

Thanks!

Quick FYI, the "get Foreign Wives into opponent's territory then play Job Overcomes" combo has been theorycrafted by many Redemption players over the years.  Unfortunately, it does not work as intended.  Job Overcomes counts evil brigades of the opponent - which means brigades they both own and control.  In this combo, they control Foreign Wives, but they do not own Foreign Wives.
