Special abilities won't be posted since I assume these questions have all been asked before.
1. Herod's Temple; if my N.T. character is being discarded in battle and I choose to use Herod's Temple's ability, does my character stay in battle?
2. a.) Saul/Paul is considered an evil card at face value, and thus multiples can be in a Type-2 deck, correct?
b.) Is Saul and Paul of the card Saul/Paul considered different people for playing purposes? i.e. Can I have Paul out at the same time as Saul?
3. The Disciples Lost Soul (Luke 19:10, the one that negates other lost souls); does that take effect for continuous turns until it is taken out of play?
-
1. I don't know the new Herod's Temple ability
2a.) Correct
b.) No, they are the same unique person. Saul cannot block Paul either.
3. I don't know the ability, but ongoing abilities on Lost Soul cards are typically active continuously.

1. Yes
2.a Actually, iirc, there's a bad ruling on this one and Saul is one per deck.
3. Yes, and for extra clarity, his SA does not stop working immediately when he is taken out of play, but at the start of the following phase.

Oops! I did not know that. That would have passed my deck checks. Fortunately we hardly ever play Type 2.

Thanks, guys.
So I guess Herod's Temple isn't as useless as I thought it was...
-
Yeah it may be one of the best cards in the game.
My list of best disciples cards:
Herod's Temple
King Manasseh
Thaddeus
Herod's Temple
Trumpet & Sword
Herod's Temple
Fishing Boat

1. Yes. If an ability is insteaded, the game proceeds as if the ability never happened, only the ability that was carried out instead is considered to have happened for all purposes.
2a. Yes, S/P is evil for T2 deck building purposes, and you can have up to 5 of him in a T2 deck.
2b. You cannot control both two S/P cards, regardless of what name they go by.
3. Pol is correct. The ability lasts until the phase after it is taken out of play.

I was right about 2a? Woo-hoo! ;D

Yep. The Guardian used to have a Heroless T2 deck with 5x S/P...it was actually not too bad...

Heroless T2? How did he manage the balance of good and evil? Or is that a secret?

I imagine most of the good cards were probably dominants and enhancements (to use on converted Paul).

when was this? never remember playing that
i'm not really sure if you need more clarification but Prof A is right about everything according to me

Actually I only needed Saul/Paul x3. Eventually tho I realized the deck would be much stronger as Hero-lite as I was able to use Ahimaaz/I am Patience to give me another convert option than Holy Grail. Since I was using Zeal's with Paul anyway, I added Phinehas and Joshua to give me the added advantage of using Urim and Thummim.

so what would you suggest as a battle winner now for this deck? Do you feel discard is less powerful with new sites?
