Worship of Nisroch's discard ability

This is probably a really dumb question, but I'd rather ask it now than potentially have this card hurt me in a tournament.

Worship of Nisroch's discard ability says, "If used by an Assyrian, discard all other characters in battle."  I'm assuming "all other characters in battle" is referring to all non-Assyrian characters and not literally ALL characters besides the one Assyrian that is using the enhancement.

It is as you feared. Enhancements are technically always played by one character so if you had Messenger of Satan (Ap) banded to Assyrian Survivor, you could technically choose to play WoN on Messenger if you wanted the take but not the discard. If you played it on Survivor though, it would discard Messenger. Same story for Assyrian Archer to Survivor. The other one is discarded regardless of which one you play it on.

That's a bummer :(  I guess that means I'll have to block with a lone Assyrian if I don't want to discard any of my own characters.

Ever thought about using this after banding to your opponent's characters?
May you prosper greatly!

Might be a little tough unless your opponent is also using Assyrians or you use a banding enhancement instead of a band on a character, but one thing you could do is use Assyrian Archer to discard a Hero in their territory and band to your other Assyrian to play WoN. That way you get some extra value when Assyrian Archer would be discarded after battle anyway.
