Cascade instead?

This is a tricky one for me I think I know what happens but I'd rather be a 100% sure.

If my opponent makes a rescue attempt and I block and have initiative and play suicidal swine stampede : (remove all evil characters in battle from the game to shuffle all lost souls in your territory into owners deck.)

If my opponent has guardians of your souls in his land of redemption which says: (protect land of redemption from Evil cards. If an opponent's evil card removes a lost soul from play you may discard a martyr in territory or a good enhancement from hand instead.)

If he discards a martyr or an enhancement does that instead the whole ability on SSS or just the removal of the Lost Souls?

The only reason I asked is because it says remove all evil characters in battle from the game to shuffle lost souls. If you instead the shuffling of the lost Souls I think you would be Cascade instead (lol) the removal of the evil characters as well right?

Nope, GoyS only insteads the shuffling of the LS. The ECs would still be removed.

If SSS were written the other way (for some weird reason) where the shuffling was the cost and the banishing was the benefit, then the ECs would stay in battle since the cost was insteaded.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

That's what I thought and that's the way we played it but I was hoping it was the other way around.
