Banding the opponent's hero?

I am new to Redemption, so I apologize if this is a dumb question. But I was reading the basic rules book, and it seems like it is saying that when you are attempting a rescue with a hero (that has banding), you can band-in other heroes in your possession (that can be banded), and you can also band-in heroes from the OPPONENT'S field of play (those which can be banded). This seems strange to me...(there was nothing like this when I used to play Magic)... Is it true that you can really band-in a hero from your opponent's side? Am I reading this right? Thank you very much! -Eric

That is correct--if a Hero says "May band to any Old Testament Hero" that Hero can be yours or your opponents (as long as the opponents Hero is not protected in any way).

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

FYI, the main purpose of the ultra-rare card "Wall of Protection" is to stop your opponent from banding to your characters.
