Confused about Ignore/Multicolor Characters

Hey All,

I don't know if a question like this has already been asked before.  I haven't been on the boards for a few months and new ruling threads are created at a fast pace.  I couldn't find anything applicable in the REG either (but maybe I just didn't look hard enough =P).  Anyway, on to the question(s):

I have TGT in my territory and my opponent has a redeemed soul.  I rescue with a Garden Tomb hero, say Salome.  My opponent has three evil characters in play (I have none): Trembling Demon, the Orange KoT, and The Terrifying Beast.  So Salome does not ignore Orange, but does ignore Grey.  (1) Can The Terrifying Beast block?  (2) If so, then can my opponent target Salome with only Orange battlewinners, or both Grey and Orange battlewinners?

Basically, my question is, what determines the color of a multicolor character at any given time?  My understanding was always that the holder could chose which brigade his character was.  Can he change that decision at any time?  Is a multicolor character ever considered both brigades at once?  It would be a little odd for Salome to be ignoring half of my EC.

The Garden Tomb
Type: Fortress • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: If opponent has a redeemed Lost Soul, then Salome, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Peter, John, and Mary the mother of James ignore all evil brigades that do not have at least two Characters in play. • Attributes: Empty! • Identifiers: NT, Empty! • Verse: Mark 16:1 • Availability: Rock of Ages (Set 19)

Salome
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: White • Ability: 7 / 6 • Class: None • Special Ability: Search deck for The Garden Tomb or a N.T. Covenant and put it in hand. Hero ignores Evil Characters holding weapons. • Identifiers: NT Female Human • Verse: Mark 16:1 • Availability: Rock of Ages (Set 19)

The Terrifying Beast
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Orange/Gray • Ability: 11 / 12 • Class: None • Special Ability: Discard a Greek. Immune to blue brigade. May band to a Roman Emperor. • Attributes: Male Beast (Demon), Roman • Identifiers: OT Male Beast (Demon), Rome • Verse: Daniel 7:7 • Availability: Rock of Ages (Set 16)

Thanks,
D-man

A multicolor character or enhancement is all applicable brigades at once. In your example, The Terrifying Beast is both orange and gray. Since Salome ignores orange, the "orange part" of The T Beast is ignored and therefore the entire character cannot enter battle.

Likewise, Angel Chariots (discard a Crimson guy) discards Self and Sword of Vengeance (discard a Red guy) discards Paul.

Although Tim's logic is right, it is the gray that would be ignored, not the orange.

Hey,

As far as enhancements played on a multicolor character, (I know Tim's answer to the first question makes this kinda moot but I'll mention it anyway) if a character is ignored, all enhancements played on it, regardless of brigade, are ignored as well.

So if, in the example presented, Salome was banded in after The Terrifying Beast was in battle, even though orange as a brigade is not ignored, The Terrifying Beast is ignored because it is gray, so enhancements played on The Terrifying Beast (including orange ones) are ignored.

Tschow,

Alright, thanks.  :)  I guess I was misinformed.
