Character Abilities on Trial when Converted...

When a character is converted (whether good or evil), is it stripped of its special abilities? or does the abilities stay under special conditions?

Blessings,

From the REG:

Instant Abilities > Convert > Default Conditions

•      If a Hero is converted to an Evil Character, it’s special ability does not work.  If that Evil Character is later converted back to a Hero, it’s special ability works again.

•      If an Evil Character is converted to a Hero, it’s special ability works as long as it does not harm Heroes. (e.g., the special ability of Otho does not work as a Hero because it would be discarding himself, a Hero). Game rules are still operative (e.g., Heroes may not use evil enhancements or band to Evil Characters).

My guess would be that converting to evil should have no benefits in a Christian game. In reality, it may have something to do with game mechanics that would lead to broken combos, but my idea is simpler and less likely to lead to a flame war.

You could also think of it biblically. Sometime, when people leave the world, they can use their previous situation for God's glory. On the other hand if a Christian forsakes his faith, he loses all of what he had. It is kind of nice to see those parallels in the rules :)

Women as Snares doesn't harm heroes...  might want to rethink our definition of a convert-able ability!

A game mechanics complaint I could understand but not doing it because this is a christian game? That's just stupid

I understand that but you shouldn't mix theme with game play

I guess then it brings the question of why this game was created...Was it created just to be a card game? or was created to reflect something much more amazing?

I came across this awhile back...... Wondering if my Green Ishbibenob could still band to Lahmi, Saph, and my other Phillies. THAT got confusing.
I'm sorry I crammed 11 cookies in the VCR.

Women as Snares is still a lot of fun to use, especially if your opponent has a bunch of demons that they think are untouchable.  :maul:

No, A hero cannot band to an evil character, or play evil enhancements. The Kings version of Lahmi specifies "Philistine evil character" so its ability is useless when converted. If you converted the Warriors version of Lahmi he could band to a converted Goliath, though. :)
