they attack me with a red hero and I block with King Cushan-Rishathaim w/ Naaman's Chariot & Horses and I play Syrian Victory to capture them and they play Holy Ground. What happens, does Holy ground negate it or does it get prevented by King Cushan's ability?

Unless the enhancement is CBP or CBN, it wouldn't go through since you prevent the first special ability that they play.

Correct. You must respond with an interrupt/negate immediately following a battle winner to continue the battle. Holy Ground is not an interrupt/negate if it is prevented, so unless it is somehow CBP/CBN, it won't work.

Yes but it'll reactivate after your enhancement.

I get your question now, but the answer would still be no because doesnt the SA on characters work first.
