Title: CBP enhancement verses banding in a FBTN character
Post by: jbeers285 on May 16, 2013, 04:03:09 PM
Samson makes a rescue

Samson 12/6
WC

Blocked my Nebuchadnezzar

Neb plays drawn sword (CBP DC character in battle)

Samson plays debs directive

Adds in Moses (FBTN)

Moses kicks himself leavening Samson and directive and neb plus drawn sword.

Does drawn sword get negated by Moses or does it still work?

Moses negates everything in battle and kicks himself out, successfully negating Drawn Sword.  It becomes a FBTN battle, although another CBP enhancement will still work.

Drawn Sword gets negated.

Cannot be Prevented means that no abilities active at the time the ability is played will stop its ability from activating. This means that if Moses were in battle already Drawn Sword would work, but since he came into battle after it was played it gets negated.

I assumed since the enhancement have been interrupted that Moses ability came into play and only prevents it.

From the REG: "Any cannot be prevented ability inherently cannot be prevented, which means it can never be targeted by any prevent ability. An ability targeted by a cannot be prevented ability cannot be targeted by any prevent ability. However, a cannot be prevented ability can be interrupted. Once interrupted, it can then be prevented."

Untangling that mess of wording... something that "interrupts and prevents" - just as something that "negates" - can stop an ability that cannot be prevented.
