I'm sorry if these questions may already have been discussed so forgive me please:

1. New SOG SA - Must it negate a lost soul with an available sa? Scenario - only 2 ls are available and one has an sa and the other doesn't.

2. Foreign Spearmen - can actually discard any enh in play or just in battle?

1. Not sure, but I believe you can negate something that has no ability. It's a wasted negate, but you can play it.

2. FS only tosses enhancements played after he's in battle, and while he's alone and not prevented. His ability ends with the battle phase.

As an aside, Warrior Class enhancements are considered played when they go into battle, so if Foreign Spearmen has a enhancement placed on him, it is tossed immediately.

Actually, the REG says they must come from hand:

Default Conditions
* Enhancements disards to the toss ability must come from hand.
* The strength of the discarded enhancement is determined by the face valye of the card.
* Targets for the decrease must be in battle and controlled by opponent.

A toss ability allows a player to play an enhancement in a different way than usual

Toss seems to add in a new definition of play specific to itself, so I believe weapons should work to toss.

Weapons do work on FS.

Just to clarify, by "work" you mean get tossed.
