I don't know why the old REG had the "battle ends" comment on the withdraw page, but it should not have been there.
I am having a difficult time. I can't find the section on Withdraw abilities in that document. Could someone point me to the appropriate page number?
And as a result of the correction I can place a blocker in battle after the hero leaves, correct? This is going to be fun.
Withdraw abilities now fall under the Return heading (more withdraw abilities actually use the word Return than use the word withdraw).

Can we at least DoN I am Patience/Chariots of Fire/etc. after the hero withdraws and prevent the artifacts from working?

This is going to be fun.Unfortunately, no. Presenting a blocker is only an option if a hero is in battle. Similarly if a player uses Unholy Writ on the only hero in battle before a blocker is presented the defender does not have the option of presenting a blocker anyway.Tschow,Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly
So to sum it all up, what signifies the end of battle in the event a hero withdraws prior to a blocker being presented? The battlefield is empty so there's no initiative check. Do the players just sit there and stare at each other? Is there simply a time expiration for the battle phase?
