Hey,

Tim + Bryon > REG

Inconsistent.  Somebody fix it.

http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php?topic=19231.0.  Fixed.

I don't know why the old REG had the "battle ends" comment on the withdraw page, but it should not have been there.

I am having a difficult time.  I can't find the section on Withdraw abilities in that document.  Could someone point me to the appropriate page number?

And as a result of the correction I can place a blocker in battle after the hero leaves, correct? This is going to be fun.

So, if Spy(Ahimaaz, etc.) withdraws, can I defend with Herod Agrippa II and capture them?

Withdraw abilities now fall under the Return heading (more withdraw abilities actually use the word Return than use the word withdraw).

Unfortunately, no.  Presenting a blocker is only an option if a hero is in battle.  Similarly if a player uses Unholy Writ on the only hero in battle before a blocker is presented the defender does not have the option of presenting a blocker anyway.

Thanks.  Hopefully your answer in response to my ignorance helped someone else.

Schade.  That would have been sweet.

Can we at least DoN I am Patience/Chariots of Fire/etc. after the hero withdraws and prevent the artifacts from working?

Yes... provided Lampstand isn't active. ;)

So to sum it all up, what signifies the end of battle in the event a hero withdraws prior to a blocker being presented?  The battlefield is empty so there's no initiative check.  Do the players just sit there and stare at each other?  Is there simply a time expiration for the battle phase?

Let me try to answer this one to see if I understand.  (I'm sure SN will be happy to correct me if I'm wrong. ;) )

The end of battle occurs when both players agree they are done playing cards. Since there are no characters in battle at this time, the only cards that can be played are those that require no initiative--which I think is limited to some artifacts and the Dominants.

(I still wish you could present a blocker after a withdrawal.  That would tend to put a damper on anyone who decided to abuse the withdraw heroes for their own nefarious purposes.)
