Ignore and Battle Resolution

Hi there,

sorry to bring this up again - but even with the entries in REG this is not entirely clear for me.

REG says:
  • The ignoring card cannot be targeted by an ability that is on a card it is ignoring, or on a card played on that card, and when comparing the strength of the ignored character to the toughness of the ignoring character, the strength of the ignored character is treated as zero.
  • The ignored card cannot be targeted by an ability that is on a card that is ignoring it, or on a card played on that card, and when comparing the strength of the ignoring character to the toughness of the ignored character, the strength of the ignoring character is treated as zero.
  • Characters already in battle and ignored are treated as though they were not in battle for purposes of determining battle outcome, regardless of whether all opposing characters are ignoring the characters.
(I left out 3. bullet from REG)

Situation as follows: RA with Enoch (White) and block with Behemoth (RoJ). Word of Christ played on Enoch - defending player cannot interrupt nor negate. So who wins?
According to no. 1. and 2. none of both is winning. But according to 3. Enoch is winning since Behemoth is treated as not being in battle.
Which ruling is the applicable one and how is the battle outcome in this situation?

Thanks in advance for your clarification!

Bye

If no other abilities are used, Enoch will win the battle.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Enoch is not a musician so your example is invalid...
If you were to go on a trip... where would you like to go?

Master Q beat me to it, but Enoch is not a musician so X is 0 unless you have a musician in battle.

1 and 2 mean neither character is winning by the numbers, but bullet 4 means the ignoring character is winning by an ability.

Thank you!

Similar question: Samuel (RoA) + David Psalmist opposed by Doeg w/o King Saul active. Then Word of Christ is played on David. What happens?
According to REG I'd say David wins but what about possibilities and battle resolution?

What happens if no further card is played in battle? Will strength/toughness of Doeg still be compared against the values of Samuel? If so Sam would die - but can rescuer still play another enhancement to stop that?

Can defender still play an enhancement since Sam is not ignoring? And what happens if e.g. Gibeonite Trickery would be played then ("Each Hero in battle gains 0/4 and the battle immediately ends. Ability can not be interrupted or prevented.")?

For me ignore is still one of the hardest to understand and hardest to correctly applied ability/keyword!

The 4th point of ignore
Quote
Characters already in battle and ignored are treated as though they were not in battle for purposes of determining battle outcome, regardless of whether all opposing characters are ignoring the characters.

Doeg is treated as not in battle, so his strength/toughness is not compared to Samuel.

Because Doeg is being treated as not in battle, the defender has init until they negate the ignore.

If Gib Trick is played, Doeg is still treated as not in battle.

Thank you! But then Trickery still ends the battle - right?

Trickery would end the battle however the hero would still get a soul because the battle winning condition (in this case ignore) was not negated.

Fortress Alstad
Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?
