Can Amalekites Slave ability work against Captain since its a "Banding" ability?

Wouldn't the self-capture and search be negated though?

What would happen is your Am slave would be captured, but you get no evil character.  You can always pay a cost without getting the benefit.

I would let you. I'm old and forget what cards do what. Play me. I'm in the .001 percentile of gamers to forget what game I am playing while playing.

I had gifts of Magi up and I wanted to look at what you had because I knew Old Maid was in your hand.

The reason I asked that is because in a defenseless deck Am Slave may be the only evil character in the deck, existing only to get another lost soul to rescue.  Thanks for your help.

If you can find a slot for Am Slave you could probably find a slot for Sabbath Breaker, or some other one-off human EC.
