Can Amalekites Slave ability work against Captain since its a "Banding" ability?
-
If he's alone in battle, Captain definitely negates him. INE, but I'd say if he was banded to then his ability would work since "add to battle" abilities that add characters are considered banding abilities.
Gomer to Am's Slave, ftw?
-
Wouldn't the self-capture and search be negated though?

This. He is phrased as a Do X to do Y ability. The placement and search abilities are negated, and both are required for the Add to Battle ability.
No X, No Y.
-
Hmm, I suppose that's true. *sits corrected*
-
Speaking of Am slave, in a normal battle (not FBTN), what if I search my deck and there is no one to add? Can the first part of his ability not be used in this case?
-
What would happen is your Am slave would be captured, but you get no evil character. You can always pay a cost without getting the benefit.
-
If you ask the person in advance, they may be willing to let you take it back if you don't end up finding a human evil character, however they are not required to as you are generally expected to know what's in your deck to start, what you've already drawn/played, and thus what's left in your deck.

I would let you. I'm old and forget what cards do what. Play me. I'm in the .001 percentile of gamers to forget what game I am playing while playing. ;)

Yeah, like that time you demanded $2000 from me since my Thaddeus landed at your Hotel on Boardwalk...
-
That's right, where is the money. I gave you the picture of Gabe.

Yeah, or that time when you made me Draw 4 and changed the color to Blue all because I sank your Battleship.

I had gifts of Magi up and I wanted to look at what you had because I knew Old Maid was in your hand.
-
The reason I asked that is because in a defenseless deck Am Slave may be the only evil character in the deck, existing only to get another lost soul to rescue. Thanks for your help.

If you can find a slot for Am Slave you could probably find a slot for Sabbath Breaker, or some other one-off human EC.

The only other one in this deck is Malchus, to do the same thing.
