Title: Can protected souls be protected from rescue?

If my opponent has Onesimus (Protect souls from opponents if Philemon is in battle) in territory and Philemon in battle, can I protect my souls from rescue with something like fire foxes or Uzzah or does Onesimus protect the souls from being protected by my evil character?

Onesimus would protect the souls from the protection of Uzzah or Fire Foxes.
