Title: can one hero discard my Nero
Post by: Carl deuty on March 12, 2009, 02:45:33 PM
This is just a hypothetical situation; Lets say that Michael, enhancements may not be negated, interrupted, prevented or redirected, is presented for a RA and Emperor Nero, who is immune to lone heroes, is presented to block. If Michael plays "Striking Herod", interrupt and discard a male human evil character in battle, can he discard Nero even though Nero is immune?

Yes.  Immunity can be interrupted and striking herod interrupted Nero's Immunity, basically making him like a regular character with no SA, and then discarded him before resuming the battle.

Yes.  The interrupt temporarily suspends Nero's immune ability long enough to allow the rest of the ability on Striking Herod to discard him.

However, other enhancements that don't interrupt, even if they are CBN because of Michael, would not have any effect on Nero (i.e. Seventh Trumpet, Fire, Smoke, and Sulfur, etc.)

can someone play an interrupt after any card or do you have to wait until you gain initiative?

You have to have initiative to play.

You have to wait until you get initiative.  That's why cards like Death of the Unrighteous generally aren't interrupted because they never pass initiative back to the Hero.

+1  plus, If I am not mistaken, they only interrupt any ongoing abilities or the last instant ability played.  an example is if you play capture cards and capture three heroes in territory and then capture the hero in battle, when you capture the hero in battle you pass initiative to the hero, giving them a chance to interrupt their capture, but not necessarially all the others.  Since they have initiative, they can negate the others if they have the ability to do so, but the interrupt only takes care of the last enhancement in battle (or any ongoing abilities such as immunity. etc)

That's generally true, but there are some cards that negate "one" Enhancement rather than "last" Enhancement, and those can reach in and pluck one out of the middle.
