Let's say the 2-liner is rescued once. The next turn, my opponent uses SoG to rescue it. The SoG negates and rescues a LS. Does that negate the 2-liner's game text, making it only a single rescue?

That soul has been errata'd to have a CBN ability. You can see the list of errata here.
