Biblical accuracy

John 1:12 says "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"
Jesus was also referred to as the "Son of God", in fact our very own Redemption does so as well.  He was also called the "King of Kings" in Revelation 17:14.

Wikipedia tells me that "King of Kings is a lofty title often bestowed upon monarchs", thus indicating that Jesus was royalty.  Now, we may not be kings, but we are descended from the same Father (as long as we've accepted Him), therefore, we are a member of His royal family which includes everyone from His disciples to those who accepted Him into their life just today.

The practical upshot of this is: given this evidence, can I play Royal Parade on my disciples and have them ITB and ignore?

Royal Parade (FF)

Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Purple • Ability: 1 / 1 • Class: None • Special Ability: If used by royalty, interrupt the battle and ignore one Evil Character. • Play As: If used by a member of a royal family, interrupt the battle and Hero ignores one Evil Character. • Identifiers: OT, Connected with David • Verse: II Samuel 6:14-15 • Availability: Faith of our Fathers booster packs (None)

I believe that a member of a royal family in Redemption has been defined as a member of an earthlty monarchy, not a spiritual one.  I am going to go spelunking for the confirmation now.

Royalty in Redemption is defined as earthly royalty.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

Based on his research and post, I think he knows what the definition is and is wondering why it's that way and/or if it can be changed. :P

Royalty in Redemption is defined as earthly royalty.
See above.

It is that way because otherwise literally every hero should be royalty.

Best I could find is here.  There is also the whole thread on whether KoT was a King, but that didn't really define royal family.

browarod seems to be the only one who realizes what's going on here.

Although:
Quote from: REG
To be from a ‘Royal Family’, they must be from a ‘Family’ and that the family must be ‘Royal’.  A strict use of the word ‘family’ includes physical parents, spouses, children, and grandchildren.  In other words, people who would be considered royalty if related to a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Emperor, or Pharaoh.  Using a fairly strict interpretation of ‘Royal Family’ includes the characters listed below:
"Sibling" is related.

Well, both of Jesus's earthly parents were direct descendants of King David, thus on some level He(they) was/were a royal(s), but the lineage was so long that the bloodline was very thin so to speak.  Not everything in Redemption is 100% scripturally accurate with the abilities because if it was, some cards would be way OP'd and broken.  At least, that's how I see it sometimes.

Are you saying Jesus didn't physically exist?  I should at least be able to play it on James, Half-brother of Jesus.

Jesus specifically pointed out on many, many occasions that he did not come as an Earthly King. Joseph was a direct descendant of David, but at the time Joseph was born the Line of David was no longer the ruling dynasty in Judea.

Which is why he was a carpenter.

Maybe he should ask it that way then.  This is Ruling Questions, expect people to answer the question as it is stated.

Get a sense of humor folks.  There's absolutely no way Royal Parade should be changed like this.

When we are playing the game during the millenial rule, we may have to adjust the definition.

How's THAT for optimism?  ;)

You are terribly wrong, and should be banned because you have an avatar based on the AMD logo when Intel is far superior.

Pfft!  Regardless of which it is based on, ANB is far superior to both put together.  ;)
