Hey I got a question that came up in a game:
Situation: If I block with a gray Emp and play Bearing Bad News (if a unique EC is discarded then all lost souls are protected from rescue) against a Teal priest. Then the Priest plays Jehoida's Strength (interrupt and band in OT people) and the opponent bands in King David (basically: he ignores royalty).
Question: Does the Teal priest ignore the Emp with King David or does the priest's numbers discard the Emp to complete Bearing Bad News?
-
I say he is ignored and it doesn't work. :D
-
When you ignore someone, you can't hurt them, they can't hurt you. So the number on your characters would not effect him and he wouldn't be discarded, so BBN wouldn't work.
-
Ignore only effects the ignoring character. Your Emp. should be DCed, I believe.
-
Yeah, I would think that since it is currently only David who is ignoring the Emp at this point, everyone else's numbers would still affect him.
-
That is correct. The Priest is not ignoring the Emperor, so if he has the strength to kill him, he will.
-
Score! Thanks Schaef, that is what I thought.

Yes I agree with this, BUT I also have an issue. Since jehodias Strength is an interupt, Doesn't that mean that unless he Cm's King david, he has to give up a LS anyway, Bearing bad news, keeps the priests from rescuing but not King David because, due to the interrrupt, King David is inserted before the Bearing bad news. He ignores bearing bad news and wherefore will still win the rescue inspite of the emperor being disarded.
Am I correct in this or is there something I am not seeing?
-
...I think you must be confusing Bearing Bad News with another card. :-\

BBN isn't targeting King David, so there's nothing for him to ignore there. BBN is only targeting the LS, as long as a unique EC is discarded, the LSs are protected.

True, true, David is not the target, I am wrong. I wasnt thinking clearly.
