Title: battle resolution and ignore questions
Post by: redemption collector 777 on June 26, 2015, 11:47:49 AM
1. If a 5/5 hero was in battle and was blocked by a 3/3 EC banded to a 4/4 EC (that is immune to lone heroes) and then it went straight to battle resolution.

Would the 3/3 EC  and 5/5 hero only be the cards that get discarded? or would it be just the hero?

2.  EDIT: sorry must have worded one part of the question oddly. I meant to say an EC that has both brigades Orange and black (Like The goat with horn EC)

If a hero was in battle with an orange and black brigade EC and hero plays an ignore enhancement and ignores black brigade.
Can the EC play an orange enhancement and still target the Hero with it normally?

3.If a hero was blocked by a brown brigade EC banded to a black brigade EC and the hero plays an ignore enhancement to ignore brown brigade and then it goes to battle resolution.

Do you determine the battle outcome by the black brigade EC and the hero only , as the brown EC is being ignored and would be returned to territory?

1. Just the hero dies.  This would happen, regardless if one of the ECs was immune or not.

2. No.  It was ruled that Joseph, when fighting an EC that is immune to one of his colors, cannot target the EC with Joseph's other color.

3. Not sure on this one, off the top of my head.  Would need to consult the rulebook

1. Only the 5/5 Hero would be discarded. Since the 3/3 is on the winning side he is not discarded even though he isn't immune.

2. No. The character, and everything played on them, is ignored if any of its brigades is being ignored.

3. Yes. The ignored character's numbers don't affect the battle resolution with the ignoring hero.

1. Only the Hero is discarded. The combined strength and toughness of the ECs is still used to determine battle resolution. If the Hero had enough strength to defeat the combined toughness of both ECs (say the Hero was 8/8) then only the 3/3 EC is discarded. If it would be a MD situation (say the Hero was 8/6) then the Hero and the 3/3 EC would be discarded.

2. Ignoring black allows you to ignore the character and any enhancements used by the character, regardless of the brigade of the enhancement. However, the Orange character can play Orange enhancements to target the Hero as normal...as Eragon said below.

3. EDIT: misread the question. Browarod Is correct.

To clarify for #2 the black brigade evil character is being ignored and cannot use an orange brigade enhancement to target the hero via say Love of Money. The orange brigade character is not being ignored and may easily target the hero with an orange brigade enhancement.

Eragon is correct as well...I'm bad at reading apparently.

Additional clarity for #2: Ignore grants immunity to the ignoring and the ignored card.  So it is not that the hero 'ignores' the enhancements, it is that the hero is immune to them because the source (the character) is an ignored card (and thus the hero is immune to it).

Actually, in example 2, there is only 1 EC that is both Black and Orange.  That EC cannot harm a hero that ignores either of those two brigades, except for interrupting/negating the ignore.

Whoops, I read it as an orange and a black, instead of orange/black. then you are correct of course
