No way to negate Blessings, Abe's servant to Ur, etc?

This came up at a tournament recently.  I had played some kind of defensive battle winner, giving my opponent initiative to negate/interrupt it.  He played Abe's servant to Ur, negating all abilities and enhancements except banding.  Now I was losing by the numbers.  I had an "interrupt the battle" card and also a negate a good enhancement card, but I was told that the abilities would not happen because of Abe's effect. 

So does this mean then that cards like these, that make a battle a FBTN battle, are for all practical purposes "cannot be negated"?  Other than perhaps an artifact like Unsuccessful, how does one negate the effects of these powerful cards?

A CBN negate. (Pretty much anything on Naaman, that crimson dude, etc......)

Not to mention that cards that cannot be prevented or cannot be negated will still have their effect after a card like Abe's Servant.  There are not many cards that can cancel the effect of Abe's Servant et al, but there are quite a few cards that will still work.

Ruthless works on an Egyptian, and that brown one from FoOF or RoA (something to do with idols?) works on an OT Human. Those can be nice to have.

The brown one is Stiff-Necked, I believe. Unsuccessful working from the Artifact pile also works.

Yeah, those fbtn negates used to be pretty powerful but they are so-so any more.
