Battle, Banding and the order of abilities

Hello Everyone... Got a question. May seem simple, but I'm having a hard time finding exact clarification.

If Player A attacks/makes a rescue attempt with say Joshua. Joshua has a band ability. I think I understand that he would get the band ability from Joshua before Player B defends. If Joshua bands to Captain, does Captain get his ability before B chooses the EC to block? At what point does B's EC get a chance to activate it's ability?

Basically when you attack you complete all abilities on heroes that enter battle. So in this case Joshua bands to Captain of the Host, and then once Captain of the Host's ability (plus any weapons or new characters brought into battle), then player B has a chance to block.

So if I’m attacked with a character with a band ability (that doesn’t list cbn), and my character in territory (but not territory class) negates band abilities, how would I ever use his ability of all the banding abilities are resolved before he can ever make it to the battle? Just confused on how some of the abilities on ECs can be carried out if they are always last to the party.

If you blocked with a character that negates all banding abilities, all characters banded in with negatable band abilities would return to where they came from and their abilities would be negated.

Ah, sweet! That makes much more sense. So, one other follow up question: if captain was banded, could he use his ability to negate a card to negate my EC in territory so he doesn’t get his special ability once he enters battle? Would the negate while in territory be lost once my EC is moved into battle?

The negate is tied to the card, not the location, so the card would remain negated even if it moved from territory to battle.
