sry if this has been asked before, but if u have two warrior-class characters banded into battle, one holding a weapon.  the one holding the weapon is discarded, does the weapon transfer or not? what if the other character isn't warrior-class?

Yes, enhancements can transfer to other characters in battle, as long as they are the same brigade (or otherwise allowed to use them). Weapons can transfer from one character to another during Battle Resolution, even if both characters survive battle.

For your second question, the non-WC character can use the weapon in battle, but they can not hold it after battle.

It would be nice if this were true. I've always heard it ruled that a character must be removed (or exchanged) in order for the weapon to transfer. The REG actually used to clarify this issue but the new one does not. It just says this in regard to transfer...

From the new REG pag 135
"Weapons follow the same rules as placed cards by following their bearers to any location in which they are moved." Thoughts?

Red was always playable :)

On that note, have all the relevant ruling insert cards been documented in the rulebook and/or REG?  Even a linked image would be great.

(I imagine the answer is contained on the Kings pack insert card.)

The new REG does not change the rule, so I believe it stays as it was previously.  I also remember the status quo being that the weapon cannot be transferred to a different hero unless the hero it originally stayed with is discarded.  It'd be good to have an Elder clarify this, particularly what happens when the weapon-holder is sent to hand/sent to territory/sent to deck/set-aside, as the rules for placed cards following their hosts did get updated.   In these cases, can the weapon stay behind?  Or must it follow?  And is discard the only way that weapons can transfer.

Also, do you get a choice if the weapon stays stays in battle when its hero is discarded if that is the case, or can you chose for it to go with the discarded hero? Lets also say the other hero is battle is warrior-class, could you chose for the weapon from the discarded hero to stay in battle and not stick to the warrior-class hero?

Can we have Elder confirmation that the old weapon rules are now expired? Remember that I still live in the past here in Florida. DC Talk is still together and the Newsboys' lead singer has an Australian accent.

Agreed that we could use some Elder confirmation on this whole issue.  However,

I'm sorry, I'm very confused by your post.  It implies that there is a time in which those statements are not true.

So you still live in the past, too?  8)

In the event that you are serious, DC Talk is no longer together, and Michael Tait is now the lead singer of the Newsboys. Toby-Mac just went his own way, and I have no idea what happened to that other guy...

In the event that you are serious, DC Talk is on a come-back tour in your hometown with Michael Tait, Peter Furler is still the lead singer of the Newsboys. Toby-Mac still does things his own way, and everyone lived happily ever after.

I'm not sure why you felt the need to post that, I'm aware  :o

And since I feel awkward continuing a non-relevant conversation...on the topic at hand, I would like if we could have the eventual ruling be consistent with similar rulings as much as possible.  For that reason, I would like to propose that we either:

1. Treat weapons like all enhancements, and that they stay in battle regardless of what happens to the character they were played on (even if they were held) and can therefore be transferred if necessary at the end of the battle.  Note that this would cause problems with Return or Repel, as the character would 'lose' the weapon in the battle.  But even if that were ruled a different way, it would be a slight deviation (that I'd still dislike for being an exception) from the overall rule, and better as an option than most alternatives.

2. Treat weapons like all placed cards, and that they follow the character regardless of the fact that it happened in battle.  This would be the more significant change, obviously.

And now I'll go back to my Greatest Hits cds.  Excuse me.
