Weird "Lost Souls" Question
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:17:17 AM »

I was wondering, do lost souls still have abilities in the land of redemption? For example, let's say I played Ears to Hear on the 2-Liner, and then rescued it.

Ears to Hear
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Silver/Purple • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Place this card on a Lost Soul (except the "Lost Souls" card). Discard all evil cards placed on that Lost Soul. While this card remains, negate the special ability on the Lost Soul.

With Ears to Hear on the 2-liner, I only need to rescue it once, but it only counts as one soul, however, once I rescue the soul, Ears to Hear is no longer on it. Does that mean the ability is no longer negated, and it counts as 2 souls in the land of redemption, or is it negated permanently?

I'm guessing this doesn't work, but I thought I'd check, just in case. :D

I am pretty sure that it doesn't work like that.

For one, who says that ears to hear gets discarded from the LS once it is rescued?  Unless there is a game rule that claims that, I dont see any reason why this card cannot go into the LOR with the LS.

And to answer your Question, yes LS's still have SA's in the LOR.  the anti-burial LS comes to mind immediately.

Well, before they decided to make the 2/3-Liner CBN, they had all cards that negated Lost Souls single the 2/3-Liner out. In the end, they just made her CBN, because her ability is more like an identifier anyways.

I didnt know about the erratta on the Lost Souls card, but I still don't see a problem with the way I described the situation.  If a Lost souls SA is negated by ears to hear, then I believe Ears to HEar would still negate it while it is in the LOR.

Unless there is some game rule that i am too lazy to look up and find.

The only LS that is active in the LoR anyway is the Anti-Burial. So I'd say sure, if Ears to Hear was placed on that one, it would remain when rescued.

Once rescued, it is a Redeemed Soul so Ears to Hear wouldn't target it.
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!

You can't even put it on the 2-liner, guys.

I was wondering how many replies I was going to have to go down without seeing someone point that out...  All the LS negate cards exempt the Lost Souls card.

Hey,

I am not aware of any errata to the Lost Souls card making it CBN.  Not that it matters, the playtesters have done a very good job of including "except the lost souls card" on all the cards like Ears to Hear.

The following rule exists: "Any card placed on a lost soul is discarded if the lost soul is relocated to a location outside the land of bondage it was in."
