Banding

Pardon me if I've asked this before, but I just wanted to remember:

Let's say My opponent is rescuing. I block with an evil character. He bands in 2 or 3 other characters in battle. If I play a card that targets the hero that initiated the band (like if I captured him or put him back in my opponent's territory), what happens to the rest of the heroes in battle? Do they stay in battle or do they return to territory?

If you just remove them the remaining characters stay in battle. You would have to Negate (or Interrupt) the banding ability to make them return.

If the band was something like Rachel(bands to Jacob) banding to Jacob(bands to silver) banding to Captain, and you gat rid of Jacob,Captain would go back, because there is no longer anyone banding to him.

If you just get rid of Jacob (say with a discard ability), Captain would stay in battle.

Banding is an instant ability that simply brings other characters into battle and then it's finished, removing the character that brought another character in does not affect the fact that the character has been brought in, you would need a Negate or Interrupt to do that.

Confirming that CS is correct.  Removing a character does not stop a band, it is not an ongoing effect.  It is an instant ability, and once it completes, that character stays in battle unless the band is negated.
