Title: Ashtaroth Worship vs. Signet Ring
Post by: Captain Kirk on June 26, 2013, 12:54:20 AM
1. Does Hezekiah's Signet Ring protect my discard pile from Ashtaroth Worship's removal since Worship targets the entire pile?

2. Does it protect my discard pile from cards that only remove some cards from the pile? I believe there would be an implied search in this scenario.

3. I thought Signet Ring was a protect. The Errata document Jordan posted (and Redemption Wiki) show it as a prevent.

Ashtaroth Worship - "Discard a good Enhancement or remove from the game all cards in a discard pile."
Hezekiah's Signet Ring - "No opponent may search any draw pile or discard pile."
Errata/Play As: Opponents are prevented from searching any draw pile or discard pile.

I think...

1. No. There isn't a search involved, just removing the whole thing.
2. Yes, for the reason you listed.
3. It's a protect.

WARNING: The above may be completely wrong.

I seem to recall that HSR and JT were both supposed to be a restrict.

Edit: I found our discussion from a couple years ago. This is the outcome. I know it was announced but I don't have time to search for it now.

HSR: Restrict opponents from searching decks or discard piles.
JT: Restrict opponents from removing cards from your deck.

Fixed both cards in the wiki.
