Every Man's Sword Site Lock

If I have Every Man's Sword active and all of my lost souls are in green sites, can my opponent only start a rescue attempt if he uses a green hero? Because in order to put a site in battle to make it a rescue attempt he would have to begin a battle challenge with a hero that doesn't have site access.

Every Man's Sword

No battle may begin as a battle challenge.

Every Man's Sword has Play As/Errata that clarifies what it does:

Every Man's Sword (Ki)

Type: Artifact • Brigade: None • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: No battle may begin as a battle challenge. • Play As: Restrict all players from attacking an opponent without a Lost Soul in territory. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Judges 7:22 • Availability: Kings booster packs (Rare)

So in this case he would be able to attack you.

Ok thanks.

Btw, where did you find the errata? I looked in the thread "Errata - Reworded special abilities" but it wasn't there.

[nitpicking]
That "play as" changes the way EMS works so it should be an errata. As such, I agree with Noah, it should be posted in the official errata thread if that's truly how the card is meant to be played.

...if that's truly how the card is meant to be played.

Not so much "meant to be played," but rather the way it had to be reworded due to changes in what defines a BC vs. a RA. EMS still effectively stops LS-generating heroes like Seeker of the Lost, as well as annoying BCers like Warriors Gabriel, when there are no LSs out (which was what EMS was supposed to do).

With that said, I agree that it should be listed in the "Errata/Reworded SA" Thread. Is there really no way to get easy access to the old-REG style card SAs? Is that gone forever?

I don't know of a location that still has them (the Visualizer and RTS card file don't seem to have them).

In principle, I agree with browarod and YMT.  If it's not on the official Errata list, and the Play-As changes the meaning of the wording, then the Play-As shouldn't be considered valid.

However, this one does have an errata: Errata: Protect each player without a lost soul in territory from being attacked..  It's not in the right place though...can we try and figure out if there are more erratas that need to be compiled into the main list?

Whoa.... that was from 2007, which is old wording. A player cannot be protected from anything (unless they carry a taser), only the cards can. "Restrict" is the proper word, I would think.
