Are weapons "played" in battle?

QUESTION:  Suppose I do a rescue attempt (with any hero), and my opponent blocks with an EC that has a weapon already placed on him (e.g. Every Man's Sword). Then EMS activates and he can discard my hero (because my hero is multi-colored). But, what if I then play a negate enhancement (something like "Wonderment" -- negate and discard the last evil enhancement played in battle? Would that negate and discard the EMS?

This gets at the general question of: When a weapon activates in battle, is it considered the "last" evil enhancement played in battle? (this comes up all the time!)

Thanks

Yes, weapons are played in battle (when their ability activates). If they are put on a character prior to battle then the weapon is considered "equipped."

So "Wonderment" would negate and discard it then?

In most instances yes. However, if multiple ECs (each with a weapon) were banded together, Wonderment would negate whichever was the last to activate.
