Artifacts and the three woes?

When you activate an artifact do you have to reactivate it every single turn? or if you don't change it it stays active?

With the three woes (if you're not sure what this card is you need to look it up anyways) can you name a card and say that you're going to keep negating that card until otherwise stated? Or do you have to every single turn name the card and negate the card? Basically if you forget to name a card then nothing is negated or does it default to the last card you were negating?

Technically yes

I use a dice and leave it on the card I want continuously negated so there is no question

The official rule is you have to state what you are negating every turn, otherwise nothing is negated. But, i'm sure no one will mind if you say "i'll negate this until stated otherwise" However, if you don't say that it would only be negated for one turn, so don't forget!

i tried to ace five questions with the yes xD it depends on who you are playing too cause some people will say sure man you can negate this still and other people will say it's too late for that sorry! you didn't say anything! so i keep the dice in case someone even tried to say i didn't say anything i got the dice on there indicating what is being targeted

not to mention i am extremely forgetful so i even put dice on targets my opponent makes as a courtesy to help both of us remember

Master Q is correct that it's common courtesy to post abilities when you're asking a question. It benefits not only those who you're asking to help you, but others who might have the same question and can sometimes even help yourself when you see the ability in a different format.

I know you've said the people answering already know the abilities, but that's not true. As someone who "knows" almost every card, I still usually look up the card or ask to see it when I'm answering a ruling question.
Have you visited the Land of Redemption today?

Yeah, so even though I said something to this effect in one of my other posts on the original LDYL topic about posting abilities (before that thread was routinely deleted):

Quote
Keep in mind, this is not meant to single you out.

When you do something like this:

With the three woes (if you're not sure what this card is you need to look it up anyways)

And begin a second LDYL topic that's so blatantly transparent in its intent, then I have no choice but to take it to mean that you think I attacked you personally in some way (even though that was never my intent), and that you mean to continue to completely disregard one of the most basic forms of etiquette on the ruling forums purely out of spite. :P

Here we go again  ;)

Didn't you say yesterday that if it was a dominant, you don't have to post special abilities!? I'm pretty sure that's what you said. So I didn't think I had to post abilities. Just following what you said yesterday.

You might want to write a post about what you want from people when they post ruling questions and pin it to the top of the ruling question form page. Just an idea.

I can't be sure what he said yesterday, you deleted the post.

It would be helpful to post the ability in this case because the question is referring to the specific wording on the card, mainly if it negates for a round or as long as the negated card is in play without you specifying to renegate the card.  People will remember generally what the card does, but not the specific wording of it

Just to clarify, I think dom's have not been needed in the past but perhaps it is a good idea to post more recent dom abilities. For instance the New FA or New Guardian.

I believe people are being a little too stringent on the whole "it's common courtesy" to post the ability thing though. If it is common courtesy then it isn't required just like you are not required to answer the question.

My suggestion is that we either officially make it a rule to post abilities in ruling questions (meaning any ruling question without abilities will be quarantined) or each person can individually decide to post or not post abilities and to answer or not answer questions.

I assume if people don't answer ruling questions that don't have abilities posted long enough, people will stop asking questions without abilities listed.

On a side note, I think several people are being misread and perhaps it's causing some turmoil.  I think the clapping meme takes it a little to far and I believe some of the deleted comments from yesterday took it to far.

Disagreements are 100% ok and even encouraged at times in a forum like this. As a forum built around a Christian card game we aim to promote Christian principles and interaction with one another. Please ask yourself if your next post is necessary, if it is beneficial and if it could be taken personally by someone involved.

I love this community and I love this game. I have seen too many people jump ship because of poor interactions. I want to be a piece that works towards avoiding that ever happening again. It's my prayer that you all feel the same.

Blessings in Christ,

I understand what you're saying but the wording on the card made no difference to the question in this case. Mainly I was asking and do you have to activate it every turn the three woes and artifacts in general or was it still working the following turn. The question wasn't for a specific card specifically it was just a general question. And I guess the answer is it depends on who you're playing if they're a nice guy and just let it reactivate or if you're a guy who's playing for themselves to win and make the player say at every turn.

Secondly, this only affects dominant cards correct?

Fixed that for you.

I've deleted that gif. I should've known that heaping sarcasm onto the situation would probably only make it worse, but it's my default setting. It's difficult to shake. :P

I only brought up the issue of posting abilities with cards because it used to be a normal practice and one of the most basic, beneficial rules around here, and for awhile now it's gone by the wayside. In my attempt to bring things back to the way they were and reinforce the idea of a standard to follow, my first post about posting abilities was almost certainly misconstrued as personal, when in reality it was exaggerated to try and get the message to stick.

In all honesty, I am astounded more than anything at JS's extreme overreaction to my attempt to explain why posting abilities should be more widely practiced, so all of my disbelief at his behavior (deleting threads, posting threads and taking jabs out of spite) manifested itself in confrontational posting. JS, I really have nothing against you personally. It's just this lazy trend that frustrates me. Apologies.

Hey who doesn't like sarcasm!  :) It's my natural defense mechanism lol. As far as I'm concerned what happened yesterday was over yesterday. It just so happened to be brought back up today, but it's okay. Sorry if I offended you or hurt your feelings and anyway that was not my intent. Can't we all just get along  ;) I try to put the abilities on the post sometimes I take for granted what I'm typing and assume everyone else knows what I'm talking about my bad. I'll try to make it easier on everybody and post abilities when asking a question.

This thread preached to me. Also, I had never realized how hilarious the wording on that card is. A prime example of why learning Latin absolutely can help you with tricky English syntax!
I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
