I go out with Sam and search for either King Saul or a David, I have one of them in my hand. Can I search, add the one in hand to territory and draw 2?

You can add one to Hand, but you don't draw if you do.
They seem pretty lame as fighters maybe we should challenge them to a dance off or a redemption game

I agree with megamanlan on this.  So that we all have a frame of reference:

Quote
Samuel
Negate play abilities. You may search deck for King Saul or David and put it in play to draw 2. May band to a male I Samuel Hero. Cannot be negated.

When there is an ability that reads "You may X and Y", the rule is that the ability is actually "You may X and then you may Y".  For precedent, see the Lydia + Reach of Desperation ruling.

Essentially, that means that for Samuel you may search for King Saul or David (which can in turn be any copy of David or King David).  That's the end of that may, you can do that independently of any other part of Samuel's ability.  Then, you may play the card you searched for to territory (since the ability says "it", which refers only to that card you searched for) to draw 2.
