Hey everyone. The following situation came up in my game tonight.

Dutiful Priest attacks. He is blocked (doesn't matter much by what), and plays Gifts and Offerings with the "Play an Offering enhancement" part of his ability. Gifts and Offerings is subsequently negated and discarded.

Does Dutiful Priest draw? The offering enhancement was played, but it was negated and discarded. We played it as no, reasoning that it would only work if the ability actually went off, but I'd like confirmation as I could see the reasoning either way.

G&O doesn't really matter, just know it's an offering for DP.

Even if the offering is negated and discarded, you still have the draw because you did indeed complete the play ability.

The enhancement you play off the play ability and what happens to it is irrelevant. The only way for the draw to be cascaded would be if the play ability itself was negated, which is not possible.
