Anti-burial lost soul

If the new Son of God rescues the Anti-burial soul, does He negate the soul's ability indefinitely or just for the remainder of the phase/round?

I have always understood it to work that if the Anti-burial LS is being negated when it gets rescued, the protection ability does not activate at all.

I'm fairly certain that is how it was ruled when it first came out, but I'm not sure if that has changed at all.

Have you checked the REG?
Have you looked it up in ORCID?

Has not changed to my knowledge.

Is this still how the anti burial lost soul works? Or has there been a different ruling? If so then it's not a good lost soul at all with the new Son of God and the FBTN lost soul.

Right, plus there's plenty of other lost souls with nifty abilities to use.

It also took a hit when the Dominant Cap was introduced making Burial far less likely to be used in T1.

Sometimes new sets or new rules make older cards less useful...that's simply a part of any CCG.

What exactly is the dominant cap? Are you referring to one dominant for every lost soul? That being said in a 50 card deck can I put 10 lost souls and 10 dominants?

Yes, that is the dominant cap. No, the Lost Soul requirements in deck building are exact numbers, not a minimum.

What if I choose to just have more lost souls? If not then the REG needs to be updated as well it just says minimum

Where precisely in the REG does it state minimum? The deck-building section states "Lost Souls required."

How many souls/doms can you have?

Browa,

I have asked this same question before (and I have not gotten an answer yet).

Is there a maximum cutoff for the number of lost souls/dominants in a deck?

If not, then you can stack it pretty heavy -e.g. 15 souls + 15 dominants + 20 other cards = 50 card deck.

Can you imagine? Has there been an official ruling on this...anyone...?

Thanks,

emonier

This I believe has already been answered but here is the ruling. The number of lost souls in a deck for a specific deck size is the exact number of souls you must have in a deck no more or less. This means the number of dominants is always the same as the lost souls that you are allowed to have in a deck for its size per deck building rules. A big reason for it being an exact number and no more is because of "lost soul" decks from a very long time ago. Players (including myself) tried building decks with nearly all lost souls and then the bare minimum amount of the best cards to rescue 3 souls plus SOG and NJ to make 5 for a win. Obviously that's not good for the game so the lost soul count required for deck building purposes is a minimum and maximum at the same time.

Edit: Deck building rules can be found in the reg which outline the # of souls required for different sizes of decks for type 1 and 2.

I understand but it implies you can have more

"The number of dominants (good and evil combined) may not exceed the number of Lost Souls in a deck."

So there probably needs to be a few words changed in the REG so that people don't even ask this question.

Ok.
That answers it.
It is an EXACT number - no more, no less.
(I agree that this should be expressed more clearly in the REG).
Thanks,

The Lost Soul count is an exact number (as outlined in the REG).

The dominants can be up to the number of Lost Souls but it is not an exact number (i.e. you can have 7 Lost Souls in your 50 card deck, but only include 4 dominants in your deck).
